ABOUT NY FOREVER
WHO WE ARE
NY Forever is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a stronger future for all New Yorkers.
We started NY Forever as the city faced the depths of hardship caused by COVID-19 and awoke to long-endured racial and economic inequalities. And while we’re individuals who love our city, we’ve committed ourselves to build back a better city. A city all New Yorkers can take pride in. Nobody’s paying us. We’re paying it forward.
We want to inspire all New Yorkers to commit to their city. A citywide call to arms!
We organize and motivate New Yorkers from every borough and generation to participate in the city’s rebirth — wearing it on their sleeves, sharing it on social media, giving time or financial support to civic organizations.
Our goal is to empower every New Yorker to take ownership of our city’s recovery - to turn this reckoning into a triumph.
Because New York is worth it.
WHY WE’RE HERE
New York is facing a once-in-a-generation challenge. COVID-19 dealt a crushing blow to New York, shuttering so many of the institutions—big and small—that make our city vital, as well as shining a light on long-standing inequities. If one thing is clear from the past year, the city’s promise of inclusivity has fallen far too short for far too many.
It’s time for New Yorkers to live up to that promise.
From aiding restaurant workers to supporting park cleanups, we’ll proudly advocate for and participate in our city’s recovery. By creating and amplifying positive narratives about the city’s resilience, we’ll engage New Yorkers to participate in an equitable recovery. We’ll show the world that New York is not dead—real New Yorkers don’t cut and run.
